How long has Cherry Drop been a band? Can you tell us about how you formed?
We've been together for about 5 years now. Me and Zach started this band together around 2021. I was the drummer for a band called Hairy Queen and was looking to get myself out from behind the kit and on a microphone. Zach was
playing guitar and looking to start a band. He had come to a few HQ practices, and we talked about music we liked and what we would like to do with a band, after that it just kinda clicked. We started getting together and writing a lot, looking for guys with similar mindsets. Three different line-ups later, we have the guys we have today. This lineup has been going for about 3 years now and we don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
If you haven't answered this in question one, who are your members and what instruments do they play?
Standing today and until we disband.
Zachary Oz Wood - Lead riffs and attitude
Samuel Dale Sadowski - Thunder and rumble
Cory Borealis Tucker - Rhythm tones and good looks
Jake Snake Presson - Fast hands and train driving
Lucas Sunn Tucker - Word and Flailing
Who and/or what events are some of the influences of your band members?
This is what we like about our band, we all have similar mindsets but totally different influences when it comes to music. Being brothers, me and Cory come from a hard and gritty punk rock background and have always stayed true to those
roots. Zach and Jake both take influences from 70s and 80s rock n roll. Zach leans more on the groovy, flavorful side, while Jake comes from more of the Motorhead and fast beat types from those eras. Dale comes from more of the 90s/ early 2000s type of metal, grunge, hip hop, and rock n roll. Dale has and always will listen to just about everything there is to hear, and he mashes it all up into his own unique style.
Not to put a label on you, but what do you guys personally call the style of music you play?
Detroit rock n roll. It's kinda punk, kinda blues, kinda rock, and kinda metal. We're loud. We're fast. We don't plan on stopping.
What's coming up? Shows and other stuff. A few things!
●February 13th at Bowlero with Warhorses
●April 4th at The Old Miami with Sonic
Smut, Sound of the Shell, and Castle Black
● A few things in the works that we can't announce just yet, but they're coming!
